No. You do not need to download any software to use our website monitoring service. We provide a managed service monitoring your website by downloading content in the same way as your users do

The short answer is no. Unfortunately support staff at many ISP's and hosting companies do not always know that there is a problem with their servers. You may be the first to tell them. Even more unfortunate is that occasionally these support staff will deny that there is a problem. They may be able to access your website from within their network even though your users on the internet cannot. Many of our customers ensure their service providers also receive any email or SMS alerts we issue. enabling the parties to work together from shared information to resolve any issues as quickly as possible.

We will monitor your site and give you reports in plain English. You can send these reports and alerts to the people who built your website automatically so that they can help fix those problems before they affect your users and hence your business.

Absolutely. Our monitoring agents are just like end users on the internet. It doesn't matter where your servers are physically located.

Each time we download a page from your website your server will log a hit for the page and every object on the page (e.g. images). These hits will all be from the same range of IP addresses, all of which have reverse lookup to Site Confidence, so it's easy to see that it is us and not a visitor. Many log file analysers (web statistic packages) have filters to allow you to ignore hits from specified IP addresses or hosts.
